NEWS FROM ETHIOPIA

Shubisa’s DREAM

Today we would like to talk to you about Shubisa.  He is an orphan who -- thanks to the SAD (Child Sponsorship) project -- we have had the honor of seeing grow from a little boy into a young man entering the working world to help his widowed sister, all the way through to becoming a father, a loving husband and, now, also a university graduate.

His determination and your donations are proof that, with the right support, dreams can really come true.

We are immensely proud of him and happy to have had the opportunity to accompany him on this journey.

After SUMMER SCHOOL, our children (Child Sponsorship project) are ready for the new school year

We have now reached the end of Summer School, just before the start of the new school year.

 We are very pleased with the progress made by all the children, especially those who scored below 70%.

MANY THANKS to all our Child Sponsorship supporters, who will soon receive their children's report card and academic year 2023/2024 report.

We kindly ask you to please check that your 2024 SAD (Child Sponsorship) fee has been paid.

WORK IN PROGRESS:  The school at Melka Oda is almost ready to host our children

At the moment the walls and foundation of the structure have been completed, and work is now underway to complete the roof.

We are excited to be leaving for Ethiopia towards the end of October.  From there, we will have the opportunity to share with you photos of the school in full swing and we will bring stationery and funds for the children thanks to the donors who so generously contributed to the "Suspended Backpack" campaign.

NEWS DALL'ITALIA

Board of Directors meeting with Father Leo:  updates and celebrations

On Sunday, August 25 we had the pleasure of hosting the Board of Directors meeting, enriched by the special participation of Father Leo, a Missionary in Ethiopia.

Father Leo updated us on the latest news from Ethiopia and celebrated a Holy Mass for us, followed by a friendly lunch.

COMING EVENTS…

Giving Day:  Solidarity Event

  At the end of September, we will celebrate and organize Giving Day, a solidarity event open to everyone, both adults and children.

  This annual event promoted by the Istituto Italiano del Dono represents an opportunity to raise public awareness about the benefits and importance of donations, as well as the value of volunteering and solidarity.

 

A detailed program will follow with a date and time to share this moment of joy together and to exchange gifts.
