The GMA napoli OdV pursues goals of solidarity among peoples in cooperation with local realities in developing countries, particularly in Ethiopia. Specific objective is the improvement of the living conditions of communities in need, in particular women and children. Currently our activities are aimed at:
Sponsoring a child
Distance support for minors at risk, from 4 to 16 years old, which we place in schools, favoring education to ensure a better future. We follow the street kids we welcome into family homes. The SaD fee requested from the sponsors is € 300 per year (€ 0.80 per day … € 25 per month). The fee is managed by our local partner – Catholic Mission of Shashamane – and indicatively it is divided as follows: 30% education (school fees and school supplies) – 30% medical assistance and clothing (for local festivals food, clothing and materials are given as gifts hygienic-sanitary) – 30% emergency fund (surgical operations, rent / repair of houses, transport costs and help to some deserving students, enrolled in the university who, due to age limits, left the project) – 10% administrative expenses (salaries and salaries to local operators; stationery costs; utilities and transport costs related to the SaD project, etc …)
We intervene in schools with training courses for teachers to improve the quality of teaching in classes on average of 80 students with scarce teaching aids; we provide material resources; we send volunteers for educational courses to students; we build schools.
Water, sanity and reforestation
Restoration of wells; maintenance and installation of water connections; campaigns in schools and oratories for the appropriate use of clean water and sanitary facilities although traditional. Sending doctors and medical supplies to the outpatient clinic and hospital. Hygiene and health education campaigns in schools.
Increase in girls’ school attendance through distance support; training and micro-credit activities to achieve the self-development of women heads of households. Literacy courses, home economics, hygiene and health.
Development education and to globalization in Italian and foreign schools of every order and degree to promote multiculturalism, integration of foreigners and in general interculture in a globalized world that is economically, but not culturally.
Questa nota vuole essere anche una testimonianza che c’è anche una Napoli attiva e sensibile ai problemi dei PVS (paesi in via di sviluppo).
